Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he wants peace in Afghanistan before the withdrawal of foreign troops.
“There is a lot of fear in Pakistan at the moment, and I can assure you that we will do our best to find a political solution to the problem of Afghanistan before the withdrawal of the United States,” Imran Khan told a British news agency. “When the United States announced its withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban felt they had won the war,” he said. It will not be easy to get concessions from the Taliban after the withdrawal of the United States.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan would be most affected if there was a war or a refugee crisis after the withdrawal of troops. Therefore, my government has changed its decades-old policy towards Afghanistan.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan would work with any government that democratically comes to Afghanistan. Pakistan will not interfere in Afghanistan in any way.
The Prime Minister said that India had crossed the red line by ending the status of occupied Kashmir, adding that Indian actions were illegal, against international law and UN resolutions.
He said he would have to take illegal steps to resume talks. But, if India gives a roadmap for Kashmir, then Pakistan is ready for talks.
The Prime Minister further says regional trade must be made to reduce poverty in the subcontinent.
