California: Social networking site Twitter is going to amend the rules and regulations for verified accounts.
Eligible Blue Badge users must be from government agencies, the business community, the media, the entertainment sector, or sports. Celebrities or social workers are also eligible for the Blue Badge.
Twitter could also include scientists, religious leaders, and people from other fields.
A statement issued by Twitter said that the blue badge helps to differentiate between real and fake accounts. However, the whole process came to a standstill after complaints about the way Twitter accounts were verified.
