KP and Punjab steps should be taken for local body elections; PM directs
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Chief Ministers of KP and Punjab to take steps for local body elections.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee, a meeting of the PTI core committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the Prime Minister’s stance on the Palestinian issue.
The statement said that the PTI core committee stressed the need for electoral reforms.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take steps for local body elections.
The core committee said that the candidates in the by-elections should be fielded in consultation with the concerned MNAs and MPAs, and a political strategy should be worked out for the by-elections.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister was also directed to expedite the preparations for the Azad Kashmir elections.
