President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for expanding the Federal Insurance Ombudsman (FIO) outreach to remote areas of the country.
President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for expanding the Federal Insurance Ombudsman (FIO) outreach to remote areas of the country to provide relief to a maximum number of policyholders against the maladministration of insurance companies.

He added that FIO played a significant role in offering free-of-cost and prompt justice to complainants against the injustices done to them.
He emphasized the need for creating awareness through media about the services being provided by the institution for the relief of complainants.
The President expressed these views while inaugurating FIO’s at Quetta in a virtual ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The ceremony was attended by officers of FIO, advisors, and senior officers of the President’s Secretariat.
FIOs, Dr. Muhammad Khawar Jameel, highlighted the achievements of his organization by providing economic relief, amounting to Rs. 2.13B to the aggrieved policyholders during 2020-21 as compared to Rs. Seven hundred forty million in 2019, adding that number of resolved complaints had also significantly increased.
He apprised the President 2,427 complaints had been processed while 2,183 had been disposed of during 2020. Appreciating the performance of FIOs, the President underscored the need for further intensifying efforts by the Ombudsman to provide relief to aggrieved policyholders against the malpractices of insurance companies.
He assured FIOs of his full support and cooperation in the performance of his duties.
