PML-N candidate for opposition leader in Senate was controversial: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PML-N candidate for the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate was controversial. In contrast, the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House was the PPP’s right.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the third wave of Corona is spreading very fast worldwide, including Pakistan. Corona epidemic is not spreading so fast in Sindh yet, but because of Corona, we have Zulfiqar for the second time. It has decided not to hold a function on Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that there would be no meeting in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on April 4. Still, Quran recitation and a meeting of the PPP Central Executive Council would be held on April 5 to take forward the struggle of PDM. Will consider matters.
Asked about his father’s votes to Yousuf Raza Gilani, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that propaganda has been going on in the media since yesterday. According to constitutional and democratic traditions, PPP is the second-largest party in the upper house with 21 senators. It is our democratic right to have this position.
He said that the people of my party felt that the PPP was being walled off. How could I tell my party’s people not to vote for Yousuf Raza Gilani and vote for PML-N’s Azam Nazir Tarar? Let’s say he was a controversial candidate.
He said that PML-N had 26 candidates while PPP also had 21 senators besides two members of ANP, one of Jamaat-e-Islami, and two senators of FATA. We also had 26 members. If there are equal votes for two candidates, then the party with the most candidates is the opposition’s Leader.
The PPP chairman said that when we contacted former PML-N senator Dilawar Khan, he assured us of his support, and then he said that three independent senators from Balochistan were with him. The group has three more senators with him. I respect the decision that if people are rising from the government benches and sitting in the opposition benches, we should appreciate it. Puppets can fight against the government in parliament.
On the question of Maryam Nawaz’s criticism of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he would like the unity of PDM to remain intact as I had laid the foundation for it. I do not want to harm, so I will not respond to his statement, why do you want to fight the opposition.
In reply to another question, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if I had coined the word selected, I know who should use it and who should not.
He advised the PML-N leadership to look in their ranks to see who was giving them wrong advice to fight the PPP. We can fight against this government only by staying together.
