Baghdad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan wants lasting peace in Palestine, the establishment of an independent state is essential for peace.
“Pakistan supports Iraq’s geographical integrity and sovereignty, acknowledging Iraq’s sacrifices against terrorism,” Shah Mehmood told a news conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fawad Hussein.
Appreciating the Iraqi government’s efforts in tackling various challenges, including the Corona epidemic, the Foreign Minister said that Pakistan had sent relief ships to the Iraqi brothers during the Corona epidemic. We continue our bilateral cooperation with Iraq at the international level, and we are committed to providing all possible assistance for Iraq’s food security.
He said that the possibilities of cooperation in trade, commerce, agriculture, education, security, training, and capacity building discussed. He also discussed bilateral cooperation in human resources export and infrastructure development.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked his Iraqi counterpart for the invitation to visit and agreed soon to hold the Joint Ministerial Commission’s ninth meeting.
In addition, the Foreign Minister visited the shrine of Imam Musa Kazim (as) in Kazmeen and offered Fateha.
